The Jasper County Emergency Services Board, in operating its 9-1-1 Call Center affirms its commitment to provide competent, effective, prompt and truly responsive emergency telecommunication services to every resident of and visitor to the county.
Using a “team” management approach, the Board identifies as its customers, every caller seeking assistance, as well as each public safety and emergency service agency both in and out of the county. Each call requires that the Call Center Team collect all the appropriate information, assess the nature of the emergency or routine request, assign a priority to each call and promptly deliver the information via established agency protocols to the proper responding agency.
The Call Center Team further accepts the challenge of and responsibility for completing this essential “connection” between any person in crisis and the designated service providers. This obligation shall always be completed with courtesy, understanding and candid appreciation for the needs of the caller.
The Board joins the Call Center Team in acknowledging the need for proper recruitment selection and training of the team members. Staff development through preservice, inservice and specialized training is recognized as a continuing duty. In addition to the effort of staff, the Board recognizing that adequate support and resources must be committed to the Center in order to accomplish this mission.
